(Just so you know, if you click on a link in this post, it SHOULD open in a new window.)
I went with the Livingston Players, because we had a Camel in the race.

Close-Up of the Record Player - that is a 1959 Penny on the arm! |
Being a Theatre Group and being that this is their 50th Season, we went all out and wore matching "Pink Lady" and "Greaser" vests.
The Ladies with Our Camel |
All the men were wearing blue jeans and white t-shirts (with Candy Cigarettes rolled up in one sleeve.) Most of the women were wearing similar outfits, but THREE of us (Mom, Sue T. and I) wore "Poodle" Skirts!!! (We had Comedy and Tragedy masks instead of poodles)
Mom, Dad, & Me |
When we were getting settled at the table, a lady walked up and asked if anyone wanted to roll the dice for one of the races, so I said "Sure!" (of course!) and Mom said she'd throw with me.
The dice are big foam blocks a slightly larger than a mini (cube) fridge.
So we threw the dice for the third race! It was actually a pretty good workout!
They aren't heavy, but after you throw them 10 or 15 times. . .
This Video is just a short snippet of our dice rolling-we actually got several sets of Doubles!
Our camel won one race!
That guy is one of the Optimists (and also quite attractive *wink*) |
AND Mom won one of the 50/50 drawings (she bought a single $5 ticket!!!)
(I don't have a photo of that
because Dad didn't take one
and
I was getting mom a soda at the time!
She is using her winnings to visit her grandchildren)
This Camel Won the Decorating Contest!
The Base is an Air Conditioning Unit set to go off at intervals! |
Another shot of the ladies
I think they were touching the camel for luck. . . I ran over and jumped into the picture! (Hence my hand in the air!) |
And one of the whole gang!
As you can see, I was the youngest person in our group by 10+ years! |
It was a great deal of fun! I hope to get more "young folks" to come next year!
In Other News, I went to the Optimist's Club Meeting (at 7:30am - after working out at the gym) and have decided to join the Group. I <3 that they are all about Helping Kids AND they open the meeting with a Prayer and The Pledge of Allegiance! The meeting ends with The Optimist Creed.

Yes, I mentioned going to the gym, I go after dropping Emo off at work - so around 5 or 6am on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
I have Modern Dance at School on Mondays and Wednesdays --and during our "warm-up" we do 50-100 sit-ups!!!!! AND some Yoga AND we dance!!!
In addition Emo and I have been playing ABBA: You Can Dance for at least half an hour every day! It is fun, but my arms are starting to really ache!
