One of my really good friends gave birth to twin girls yesterday! Emery - 3lbs 1oz, 15" and June - 3lbs 12oz,16.1". They need prayers for their lungs to develop a little more (they were due in January) but otherwise they (and mom) are doing great!
And recently 3 people I know have announced that they are expecting, My sister, SM - she is due in May with #2, Kristen - a friend from church who is also expecting #2 in May, and Jill - my friend from high school (when we graduated both of us said we were going to get married ASAP and have at least 6 kids - she got married last year, we graduated in 2000!) is expecting her first in late March (a boy according to the ultrasound pics on facebook!)
Makes me wish for babies of my own...especially after learning that moms over 35 are significantly more likely to have a baby with down syndrome... which is scary. Thanks a lot school! I don't want to learn things like that! I am only 6 years away from 35!
I am a little old school in that I don't make things for babies until they are born (with the exception of baby showers...and even then, I purchase things that can be returned in case the unthinkable happens. Anyway, now that E and J are born, I am making a really cool gift for them, something I am really excited about making! :o) I am also making one each for my 21 month old nephew, J and the 26 month old girl, M, whom I babysit! I won't say what it is, in case the Moms read this! ;I was going to start on them today, but Veteran's Day screwed me up -
the credit union was closed!!! I will post photos after Christmas. I will give two clues in white that you may highlight if you are super curious, or ignore if you want to truly be surprised (because I am terrible at keeping secrets!)
